In the service sheet will be the words to the hymns which will be played, so that you might join us with the music and the prayers.
Bless you, and all of us, in this time of worldwide concern and uncertainty.
Remember, with all your hearts, the words we have to cling to:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:1-5
Since 1931, the Church of St. John the Baptist (a.k.a. St. John’s Church) has served the community of Ma'adi in southern Cairo, Egypt, as a place for worship and solace. The church is one of the oldest buildings in Ma'adi, and our international congregation welcomes all traditions.
Worship at St. John’s follows an Anglican/Episcopal tradition, which places focus on word and sacrament. Music plays an important role and a flexible and creative approach helps to meet the needs of a congregation from diverse backgrounds. We have a Church School (September-May) and there are activities and programs for youth and adults throughout the year.
As we gather for weekly worship and serve our community, our desire is to encounter together the living God, enabling us to live as God’s people in God’s world. We believe newcomers will find St. John’s a very welcoming, encouraging, engaging, stimulating and supportive community!
